For better or worse this is my current shop. I drew the line
when we built the house and said to my wife in no uncertain
terms, "Honey would you mind if I kept this section as
my shop?" I have managed to keep this little piece of
man territory although it has not been easy.
The little Craftsman belt sander you see is the only piece
of equipment I had when I started making knives. My trusty
KMG has made a huge difference. Of course I still "need"
a few things but then I probably always will. Soon I will
add some better vacuum attachments to cut down on the dust
of creativity, as well as additional lighting.
I hope to clean it up and organize my shop better, and some
days I actually make progress - today was not one of those
days. If you want to see a pristine shop of a top notch knifemaker
I can steer you to a friend who keeps his shop so clean he
can eat off of the floor. I still havent figured out why he
eats off of the floor, but what do you expect from a guy who
keeps a shop that clean? |
